What Are the Bigpond Mail Server Settings?

 Mail server settings are important for all types of webmail including Bigpond webmail. Here we will explain the incoming and outgoing server details. Incoming server are two types: One is IMAP and other one POP.

IMAP and POP are both incoming server of webmail but they have something different. IMAP has the feature to synchronize with the email server. It means that whatever users will perform include delete, compose and other activities will be saved on all devices.

On the other hand, POP cannot synchronize with the webmail service. It means that whatever users will perform whether composing, deleting and other activities will only be saved in that device where email is opened, not on all devices.

Here are IMAP settings

·        Incoming Server Web Address: imap.telstra.com

·        Incoming Server Port No: 993

·        Encrypted connection: SSL

 POP3 Server Settings

·        Incoming server Web address: pop.telstra.com

·        Incoming Server Port No: 995

·        Encrypted connection: SSL

Outgoing Server Setting Information

·        Outgoing server web address: smtp.telstra.com

·        Outgoing server port No: 465 (By default) or 587

·        SMTP verification: On

·        Encrypted connection: STARTTLS for port 587 or SSL/TLS for port 465 (suggested)

·        Fill username and password and also check the box Outgoing server requires authentication'
